Rachelle glamour session

A few months ago I signed up for an online glamour course where I learned so much I can't even get my head around it.

Even though I have so much posing experience, I've decided to give away a few vouchers (3 only) to people who I thought would really appreciate it so that I can get some practice in with my new skills and also to have some more of my recent work to show. At the same time the person who received the voucher would receive a FREE hair and make-up session (Value between $100 to $120) which is paid by me. They also receive a free session (my time and creativity and skill) valued at $200 plus 5 digital images valued at $150.  That is a total value of $450 for signing a model release to allow me to use their gorgeous images in my marketing. Out of 3 vouchers (given out in August 2015) only 1 (Rachelle) booked immediately. Still waiting for the others to book their session.

I've also given out vouchers to past clients and friends who will receive the session free but have to pay for hair and make-up as well as photos {I am so confident that you'll love your photos that I am doing this for free, hoping that you'll support a local small business by buying a few prints after you've seen how they turned out}. One person has come back to me, saying they don't like make-up and they'll figure something out with the hair, so they'll stop here on the weekend on the way to another appointment so that we can snap a few photos and they can continue with their day.  I then just realized that people have no idea of the value of a FREE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION.  I give up my time (which I spent lots of hours learning - time in front of the computer away from my family) and I give my skill and expertise free to them, I take their photos and I even change backdrops a few times during their session and then when I present my price list (which include folio boxes and albums as well as digital images) to them and even offer DISCOUNT they are no longer interested.

I would really like to take the time to educate who-ever comes across my site as to what is involved in a glamour(MAKE-OVER) shoot.

I could spend a few days trying to find an available hair and make-up artist. You also don't just want to use anyone. On the day of your shoot we spend approx 2 hours for hair and make-up, then approx 2 more hours posing and styling your session. Then that's done for you (as a client).  After that I tidy up my studio, put everything back in place, wash whatever needed to be washed and after that download the photos to my computer, cull through them to see which ones would work and which ones won't. I then start uploading your images to my website (that is a paid service for me) so that you can CHOOSE YOUR OWN IMAGES. So up to now I've worked about 5 - 6 hours and even if you just paid your session fee that is a fee of $33 per hour, before taxes, electricity and other things are paid. Well that is IF you pay a session fee which I haven't charged up to now. So that means I have so far spent up to 6 hours working (FREE)

Then you'd have to show me which photos you like and I will edit them and order your prints (allow approx 1 hour per photo). Once they arrive here, I have to put your folio boxes and albums together so that you can enjoy your finished product.  So next time you look at a great photographers price-list, don't shake your head in disbelief, it might actually be worth more than the actual prices you see.

So I am offering this to any lady reading this blog: a FREE MAKE-OVER SESSION in my studio in Dalyellup. When enquiring, please mention that you read about this in my blog and I'll do your session free.  PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE ARE OTHER FEES, so please don't take a chance, you'll be required to pay your hair and make-up to the artist on the day of your shoot.
